Our Story

Our name comes from the quarter: the moment every business stops, counts up and asks, "How are we doing?" We love that question. We just think it's been asked too narrowly. For a long time, the numbers left out things that matter a great deal: clean water, healthy forests, steady weather and people's pay. Those things were never free. They just weren't counted, and now the costs are showing up everywhere.

We started in Lombok, a long way from the trading floors of Jakarta and Singapore, and that has shaped how we see things. From here, the economy isn't a line on a chart. It's fishing boats and rice terraces, cooperatives and small workshops, tourism that rises and falls with the seasons, and families making big money decisions with far less information than the banks across the table. Kuartal exists to close that gap, and to show that great ideas can come from anywhere.
