1. Who we are

   kuartal.id is operated by PT Kuartal Financial Group ("Kuartal", "we", "us"), a company established in the Republic of Indonesia and based in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara. You can reach us at hello@kuartal.id.

   These Terms of Use apply when you visit kuartal.id or use any page, tool, account feature or download on it (together, "the site"). Other Kuartal products, such as apps and sites on their own domains, may have their own terms; where they do, those terms apply to that product.

2. Accepting these terms

   By using the site you agree to these terms and to the policies linked from this page. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. If you use the site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

3. Your Kuartal ID account

   Some features need you to sign in with Kuartal ID, our sign-in service at id.kuartal.id. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away at hello@kuartal.id if you think someone else has used it.

   We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people or the site at risk, or must be closed by law. Where it is reasonable and allowed, we will tell you why.

4. Using the site fairly

   When you use the site, you agree not to:

   • break any law, including Indonesian law on electronic information and transactions, or help anyone else do so;
   • try to get into accounts, systems or data you are not allowed to access, or test, probe or overload the site without our written permission;
   • copy the site in bulk with automated tools in a way that harms it or its users;
   • upload or send malware, spam or content that is unlawful, misleading or infringes someone else's rights;
   • pretend to be Kuartal, a member of our team or anyone else.

5. What we publish

   We work to keep the site accurate and up to date, but information can change, and products marked as concept, prototype, planned or in development may change or never ship. Prices, specifications and availability are only final when we confirm them in writing for a specific order or agreement.

   Nothing on the site is investment, financial, legal or tax advice. Please read our Not Investment Advice policy below.

6. Intellectual property

   The site and its content, including text, pixel art, design, software and the Kuartal names and logos, belong to Kuartal or to the people who licensed them to us, and are protected by Indonesian and international law. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use and quote short passages with a link back. Anything else needs our written permission or must be allowed by law. See Brand and Media Use for how to use our logos.

7. Links and third-party services

   The site links to other websites and services, including other Kuartal sites, social networks and partners. We are not responsible for sites and services we do not control, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

8. Availability and changes

   We may change, pause or stop any part of the site, for example for maintenance, security or because a product changes. We will try to give notice of changes that matter to you.

9. Our responsibility to you

   We provide the site with reasonable care. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss that we could not reasonably foresee, that you could have avoided by following these terms, or that is caused by events outside our reasonable control.

   Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Indonesian consumer protection law, or any responsibility we have that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.

10. Changes to these terms

    We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If a change significantly affects your rights, we will tell signed-in users before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Language, law and disagreements

    These terms are published in Bahasa Indonesia and English. They are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.

    If you have a complaint, please write to hello@kuartal.id first so we can try to resolve it with you. If we cannot agree, either of us may use the dispute resolution routes available under Indonesian law, including consumer dispute resolution bodies and the courts of the Republic of Indonesia.

1. Who is responsible for your data

   PT Kuartal Financial Group is the data controller for personal data processed through kuartal.id, as defined in Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (UU PDP). Contact us about privacy at hello@kuartal.id with "Privacy" in the subject line.

2. What we collect

   • Account data, when you sign in with Kuartal ID: your Kuartal ID identifier, name, email address, profile picture link and the permissions (entitlements) attached to your account, such as editor access.
   • Newsletter data, when you subscribe: your email address, where on the site you subscribed, and when and to which version of our consent text you agreed, plus the date you unsubscribe.
   • Session and security data, when you visit: a session record that includes your IP address, your browser's user agent and the time of your last activity, and security tokens that protect forms.
   • Messages you send us by email, including anything you choose to include in them.
   • Technical logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP addresses, pages requested and error details, used to keep the site running and secure.

3. What we do not collect

   kuartal.id does not run analytics or advertising trackers. Optional analytics and marketing categories in our cookie settings are off by default, and no such provider is currently installed. We do not sell personal data.

4. Why we use it, and on what basis

   • To sign you in and show the features your account allows: to provide the service you asked for.
   • To send newsletters you subscribed to: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
   • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix errors: our legitimate interest in running a safe service, and our legal obligations as an electronic system operator.
   • To answer your messages and requests: to respond to you, and to meet our legal obligations where a request concerns your rights.
   • To comply with the law and lawful requests from authorities: legal obligation.

5. Who we share it with

   We share personal data only when needed, and only with:

   • Kuartal ID (id.kuartal.id), our sign-in service, which is also operated by Kuartal. If you choose "Continue with Google" there, Google processes your data under its own privacy policy.
   • Our hosting provider, which stores the site, its database and its logs on our behalf.
   • Authorities, courts or other parties, when Indonesian law requires us to, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and of Kuartal.

6. Where your data is stored

   Our service providers may store or process data in data centres outside Indonesia. Where personal data is transferred outside Indonesia, we do so only as UU PDP allows, including by making sure the recipient provides an adequate level of protection or is bound by appropriate safeguards.

7. How long we keep it

   • Account data: while your account is in use on kuartal.id, and then only as long as we need it for legal obligations or to resolve disputes.
   • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe; we keep a record of your consent and unsubscribe for as long as we need to show we respected your choice.
   • Session records: they expire after a short period of inactivity and are then cleared.
   • Emails and logs: only as long as they are needed for the purpose they were collected for, or as the law requires.

8. Your rights under UU PDP

   You have the right to:

   • get information about who processes your data, why and on what basis;
   • access your personal data and get a copy of it;
   • correct or update data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
   • have your data deleted or its processing ended, where the law allows;
   • withdraw consent you gave, without affecting processing that already happened;
   • object to decisions made only by automated processing that significantly affect you;
   • ask us to delay or restrict processing;
   • receive your data in a commonly used format and have it sent to another controller, where the law allows;
   • complain, and claim compensation for a breach of your rights, in line with the law.

9. How to use your rights

   Email hello@kuartal.id with "Privacy" in the subject line and tell us what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within the time limits set by UU PDP and its implementing regulations, and will tell you if we cannot do what you ask and why.

10. Security and data breaches

    We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), sign-in through Kuartal ID instead of local passwords, role-based access for editors, and separate permissions for store and membership administration.

    If a personal data breach happens, we will notify affected people and the relevant authority in writing within the time UU PDP requires, explaining what data was involved, when and how it happened, and what we are doing about it.

11. Children

    The site is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please use it with the permission and involvement of a parent or guardian. Where we process a child's personal data, we do so only with the consent of a parent or guardian, as UU PDP requires. If you believe a child has given us personal data without that consent, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

    We will update this policy when the way we use personal data changes, for example before adding any new analytics provider. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.

1. Essential cookies and storage

   These are needed for the site to work and cannot be switched off in our settings:

   • A session cookie that keeps you signed in and remembers your choices while you browse. It expires after a period of inactivity.
   • A security cookie (XSRF-TOKEN) that protects forms from being submitted by other websites.
   • Browser storage that remembers your light or dark theme.
   • Browser storage that remembers your cookie choices, so we do not ask again on every page.

2. Optional cookies

   Our settings include two optional categories, Analytics and Marketing and personalisation. Both are off unless you turn them on. kuartal.id does not currently load any analytics or marketing provider, so turning them on has no effect today. If we ever add one, we will update this policy, ask for your choice again, and load it only after you agree.

3. Third-party content

   kuartal.id serves its own scripts, styles and fonts and does not embed content from other websites, so loading a page does not send your data to third parties. Links and share buttons for social networks are plain links: those networks only receive data if you click through.

4. Managing your choices

   You can change your choices at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser, which brings back the cookie banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but blocking essential cookies will stop sign-in and some forms from working.

1. Information, not advice

   Articles, research, tools, calculators, AI features and other content on kuartal.id are general information and education. They do not take into account your goals, finances or circumstances, and they are not investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice.

   Before making a financial decision, consider getting advice from a professional who is licensed or registered for that service, such as with the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) where that applies.

2. No offer to invest

   Nothing on kuartal.id is an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any security, fund, investment or financial product, and nothing here should be relied on for that purpose. Information for investors in PT Kuartal Financial Group is published at kuartalgroup.com.

3. Risk and accuracy

   All investing carries risk, including the loss of money. Past performance does not predict future results. Figures, estimates and projections can be wrong or out of date, and outputs from calculators and AI tools depend on the information you enter and on assumptions that may not fit your situation.

4. Products described here

   Some products we describe, such as payment, card or financial services, may need licences or regulated partners before they can launch. Unless a page clearly says a product is available, it is not being offered to you.

1. Independence

   Our editors decide what we cover on their own. Talking to our business team, advertising with us or partnering with Kuartal does not change that. We follow the principles of the Indonesian Journalistic Code of Ethics (Kode Etik Jurnalistik) and Law No. 40 of 1999 on the Press.

2. Facts and opinion

   We keep facts and opinion clearly apart. Analysis and opinion pieces are labelled. We check facts before publishing, name our sources wherever we can, and link to original documents when they are public.

3. Conflicts of interest

   Kuartal runs businesses and works with clients and partners. When we write about a Kuartal company, client, partner or investment, we say so in the article. Sponsored content is always clearly marked and kept separate from our journalism.

4. Sources

   We protect confidential sources. If you share a story tip and want to stay anonymous, tell us, and we will respect it as far as the law allows.

5. Right of reply

   If you or your organisation are the subject of something we published and you want to respond, write to media@kuartal.id. We will consider your response promptly and, where appropriate, publish it or update the article, in line with the right of reply (hak jawab).

1. Telling us about a mistake

   If you think something we published is wrong, email hello@kuartal.id with a link to the page and what you think is incorrect. We read every report.

2. How we correct

   When we confirm a factual error, we correct it as soon as we can and add a note to the article saying what changed and when. We do not quietly change facts. Minor fixes such as typos that do not change the meaning may be corrected without a note.

   If a whole article is fundamentally wrong, we will say so at the top of the article and explain why, rather than simply deleting it, unless the law requires us to remove it.

3. Right of correction

   In line with the right of correction (hak koreksi), anyone may point out an error in information we published, whether it is about themselves or someone else, and we will correct it if it is wrong.

1. Where we use AI

   We use AI tools to help with work such as research, drafting, translation, coding and design. Some site features may use AI, such as assistants or tools that summarise or explain information. Free AI features on our public sites use formula-based logic and optional in-browser models; they do not send what you type to paid third-party AI services.

2. Labelling

   Content that is substantially generated by AI is labelled. AI is never presented as a person, and the AI helpers and pointer characters you may see on the site, such as Kai, Kori, Tika and Timo, are clearly fictional.

3. People are responsible

   A person at Kuartal reviews AI-assisted journalism and research before it is published and is responsible for it, in the same way as for any other content. Consequential actions in our products need a person to approve them.

4. Your data and AI

   We do not use customer data to train models for other customers. AI outputs can be wrong, so check important information before relying on it.

1. The basics

   These guidelines apply wherever you can post or comment with a Kuartal account, including Kuartalspace. Be kind, be honest and respect other people's privacy.

2. Not allowed

   • Anything illegal under Indonesian law, including content prohibited by the law on electronic information and transactions.
   • Hate speech or content that attacks people on the basis of ethnicity, religion, race or group, harassment, threats or encouraging violence.
   • Sexual content involving minors, in any form. We report it to the authorities.
   • Sharing other people's personal data without their permission.
   • Scams, spam, impersonation and misleading financial promotions, including promising investment returns.
   • Content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights.

3. What we do

   We may remove content and limit or close accounts that break these guidelines or the law, and we cooperate with lawful requests from authorities. If you think we got a decision wrong, write to hello@kuartal.id and a person will review it.

4. Reporting

   Use the report option where it is available, or email hello@kuartal.id with a link to the content and why you are reporting it.

1. Orders today

   kuartal.id does not currently take payments or have a checkout. Devices shown in the store are concepts or prototypes with no public preorders or deposits. Merchandise and other orders are handled by email at store@kuartal.id until a checkout is available.

   We never ask for card numbers, banking passwords or one-time codes by email or chat. If someone does, it is not us.

2. When we confirm an order

   Before you pay, we will confirm in writing what you are buying, its total price including taxes and delivery, how to pay, and the expected delivery time. A contract is formed only when we confirm your order and you pay as agreed.

   We will deliver to the address you give us using the courier we agree with you. Delivery times are estimates. Tell us quickly if your order arrives damaged or incomplete.

4. Returns and refunds

   If a product is faulty, damaged in delivery or not as described, we will repair, replace or refund it, in line with Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection. Contact store@kuartal.id with your order details and photos where possible. Other return options, if any, will be stated when we confirm your order.

5. Warranties

   Any warranty that comes with a product will be described in writing with that product. It is in addition to your rights under consumer protection law, not instead of them.

1. Our names and logos

   Kuartal, the Kuartal logo and the names and logos of Kuartal products belong to PT Kuartal Financial Group. You may use them to refer to Kuartal accurately, for example in news coverage or when linking to us, without changing their shape or colours.

2. Please do not

   • suggest that Kuartal sponsors, endorses or partners with you unless we have agreed it in writing;
   • use our names or logos in your own product names, domain names or social media handles;
   • use our pixel art, mascots or images in ads or merchandise without our permission.

3. Images and media

   Photos and videos on the site may belong to Kuartal or to others who licensed them to us. Ask media@kuartal.id before reusing them, and credit the source when you do. Press requests go to media@kuartal.id.
